BELLY DANCE
Classes begin with a 15 minute warm up and end with a 15 minute cool down.

BEGINNING - The basics of Egyptian style belly dance - Open to all. If you've never taken a belly dance class or are rusty, this is the place to start. 90 minute class. $30.00 drop-in or $22.50 with a class card of 10.

INTERMEDIATE - Once you've mastered body-part isolation it's time to put it all together with traveling steps and improvisation.  Egyptian style belly dance. Open to those who have successfully completed the beginners course or by instructor permission. If you've been dancing a couple of years or more, this may be the place for you. 90 minute class. $30.00 drop-in or $22.50 with a class card of 10.


ADVANCED - This class focuses on performance skills and the techniques used in a traditional 6 part Egyptian belly dance performance. We will cover opening numbers, taqsims, beledis, finger cymbals, audience participation, tarab songs, drum solos, cane dances, khalegee, and finales. Open to those who have successfully completed the intermediate course or by instructor permission. If you've been dancing a number of years and would like to perform as an improvisational soloist, or would like to improve your dance skills this class is for you. 2 hour class. $40.00 drop-in or $30.00 with a class card of 10.

CARDIO BELLY DANCE - Raise your heart beat and dance away the blues. An hour of low impact, high-energy, kind-to-your-joints dancing guaranteed to make you smile and forget about the outside world. 60 minute class. $20.00 drop-in or $15.00 with a class card of 10.

HISTORY OF BELLY DANCE  - Using movie and video footage, this 2 hour class explores the styles of more than 36 dancers - from the late 1800s ghawazee and coffee house sensations to today’s newest stars. $40.00 drop-in or $30.00 with a class card of 10.
